Established in 2003 the CSI awards are among the most prestigious and competitive technology awards in the industry, designed to recognise and reward innovation and excellence in the cable, satellite, broadcast, IPTV, telco, broadband/OTT video, mobile TV and associated sectors.
This year there were 18 categories and we are excited to announce that THEO Technologies was Highly Commended in the “Best live OTT technology or service” category for the High Efficiency Streaming Protocol (HESP). HESP is a novel video streaming protocol combining sub-second latency, instant zapping and bandwidth efficiency. The sub-second latency of HESP allows for near real-time interactivity and in-sync delivery across multiple windows and devices.
We are honoured that the High Efficiency Streaming Protocol was Highly Commended in the Best Live OTT Technology or Service category among such highly esteemed competition,
says Bart van Oosterhout, Program Director HESP at THEO Technologies.
In order to support the adoption of HESP and to create an industry-wide ecosystem of both backend technology suppliers, player suppliers and users, THEO Technologies, together with Synamedia, have initiated the HESP Alliance. The HESP Alliance strives to onboard many new members and to boost the number of product developments and deployments.
We would like to congratulate our partner, Verizon Media, for winning first place in the category for Platform for the Super Bowl.
